Years ago, I first fell in love with the original Sì, and it became my go-to scent for a few months. While this may not sound like a long time, it was a major commitment for someone as fickle as me. Recently, I got my hands on the Intense version, and my friend’s birthday brunch was the perfect opportunity to properly test it out. Given that this is a stronger scent, I opted for a cautious approach: a single spray on my wrist and another on my chest.
The name “Intense” proved to be accurate from the start. I was greeted with a tart, fruity top note that had a surprisingly sharp edge. As someone who enjoys green and fruity perfumes, I was not bothered by it. I think others may find it slightly pungent. However, that initial note quickly mellowed, transforming into a rich, sweet berry aroma reminiscent of fruits stewing in a big pot of caramelized sugar.
After about thirty minutes, the perfume evolved even further. The fruitiness of the top notes softened and settled into a beautifully balanced powdery vanilla. Then, the complementary floral notes of rose and earthier tea notes also came through rather distinctly. The scent was still sweet, but with an added decadent feel, much like a rich, oozy dark chocolate lava cake.
The lasting power was great. Even after a long brunch followed by an impromptu shopping session (totalling six-ish hours), I could still catch a faint but distinct whisper of the fragrance without any reapplication. As my skin does not retain vanilla scents well, this came as quite a surprise. The sweetness had mostly faded by the time I reached home, but the smoky tea notes definitely lingered.

Compared to the original Giorgio Armani Sì, the intense version is quite different. The original is brighter and more suitable for daytime wear, especially in the Singapore heat. By contrast, Sì Intense, with its deeper notes of bourbon vanilla and tea, can feel slightly too warm for everyday wear. That said, it would be great for dinner dates and special occasions.
I would say that all in all, this perfume would be perfect for a romantic night out. It’s flirty but not overtly so. Sweet, yet mature enough for working adults. Also, as a fun aside, my cats loved this fragrance. They wouldn’t stop sniffing at my wrist after I sprayed it on—I’ll definitely be keeping this in my rotation.
